Cat in the Box Deluxe puts a unique spin on the classic trick-taking genre. The cards have numbers but no fixed colours, allowing players to declare a card’s colour when they play it. This creates a constantly changing puzzle as players must decide which colours to use and which cards to save.
Players also predict how many tricks they expect to win and place their tokens on a shared research board. But be careful: if you create a situation where a card’s colour can no longer be legally declared, you can trigger a paradox and lose valuable points.
