In Harmonies, players compete to create their own miniature ecosystems by arranging colourful landscape tokens on their personal boards. Each turn, you collect a group of tokens from the shared supply and use them to build different types of terrain, such as forests, mountains, fields, and bodies of water. The way you arrange these landscapes matters, as their positions can determine which animal habitats you are able to create.
Alongside building your landscape, you will choose Animal cards that show the habitats different animals need. To welcome an animal into your ecosystem, you must create the required landscape pattern on your board. Completing these patterns allows you to place animal tokens in your habitats and earn points, but you need to balance this with the points available from your landscape itself.
The challenge comes from making every space work efficiently. A single group of tokens can potentially contribute to several objectives, so careful planning can turn one placement into multiple scoring opportunities. With a combination of spatial planning, pattern building, and strategic decision-making, Harmonies is an approachable but thoughtful game where every landscape choice shapes your final ecosystem.
