Hey! That’s My Fish

In Hey! That’s My Fish!, players control a group of hungry penguins hunting for fish across a floating ice floe. The board is made up of hexagonal ice tiles, each containing one to three fish. On your turn, move one of your penguins in a straight line across connected ice tiles, then take the tile you started on and add its fish to your collection.

The clever part is that every tile you remove permanently changes the board. As the ice breaks apart, previously connected areas can become isolated, preventing penguins from reaching certain sections. Players therefore need to think beyond simply collecting the most fish immediately and consider how each move will affect their future options and their opponents’ movement.

As the game progresses, the board becomes increasingly fragmented, creating opportunities to trap opponents or secure valuable groups of fish for yourself. When no penguin can make another legal move, the game ends and everyone counts their collected fish. With simple rules but surprisingly deep spatial strategy, Hey! That’s My Fish! is an accessible game about movement, blocking, and timing.
