Description

Mists Over Carcassonne transforms the classic tile-laying game into a fully cooperative adventure filled with ghosts, haunted landscapes, and strategic teamwork. Players take turns placing tiles to expand the map, scoring points by completing features just like in traditional Carcassonne. But this time, you’re all working together to keep the ghostly forces at bay. With each tile placed, new ghosts may appear, cemeteries may expand their haunted influence, and misty regions may threaten to overwhelm the board if not carefully managed.

Victory depends on balancing tile placement, scoring enough points before the tiles run out, and preventing too many ghosts from entering play. If the team can “survive” three days—represented by reaching specific point thresholds—you win. If the mist spreads too widely or you fail to score enough points, the haunting takes over and the team loses. As you improve, you can raise the difficulty level, adding more challenge and tension to each playthrough.

The game includes new meeple types, 60 beautifully illustrated tiles that match the modern Carcassonne edition, and even optional rules for integrating the components into competitive Carcassonne. Whether you’re a long-time fan or new to the world of Carcassonne, Mists Over Carcassonne offers a fresh, atmospheric, and engaging cooperative experience.
