No Thanks!

In No Thanks!, the rules are wonderfully simple, but the decisions are anything but. On your turn, you must either spend one of your limited chips to avoid the current face-up card or take the card—along with any chips other players have placed on it—and reveal the next one. Each numbered card adds points to your score, and since the goal is to finish with the lowest total, every choice matters.

The deck contains cards numbered from 3 to 35, but with several removed each game, forming runs is risky and unpredictable. Runs of consecutive numbers score only the lowest value, encouraging careful planning and a bit of daring. Chips are worth negative points, making them valuable both for dodging bad cards and reducing your final score. Fast, tense, and full of bluffing and brinkmanship, No Thanks! is an elegant family and travel game that’s easy to learn, quick to play, and endlessly replayable.
