In Pandemic, players become members of an elite disease control team tasked with preventing the global spread of four deadly plagues. Each player assumes a unique role, such as the Scientist who can discover cures more easily, or the Operations Expert who can build research stations to improve mobility. Together, the team must travel between major cities, treat infected populations, and collect the cards necessary to find cures for each disease—all while racing against time and escalating outbreaks.
Gameplay unfolds with players taking turns to use actions like treating disease, moving between cities, building stations, or discovering cures. A deck of player cards provides opportunities and resources, but Epidemic! cards and a separate infection deck intensify the diseases’ spread, creating tension and urgency. Communication, planning, and cooperation are essential; one misstep can quickly spiral into widespread outbreaks and loss.
