Pick-a-Dog

While Farmer Henry relaxes in his cellar, the dogs in the barn are busy forming perfectly organised groups for their own games. In Pick-A-Dog, players compete simultaneously to collect as many cards as possible by spotting dogs that match their current card in all but one attribute. Each dog card features multiple characteristics—such as size, colour, number of arms, sunglasses, and popcorn—and only cards that are identical or differ by exactly one trait may be taken.

At the start of each round, cards are laid out in a grid and players are given one card as their starting point. When the signal is given, everyone grabs matching cards at the same time, stacking them in hand as the matching conditions constantly change. When a player believes no more matches are possible, they shout “Stop!”—but timing is everything. Stopping too early or making a mistake can cost you the entire stack. Easy to learn, frantic to play, and endlessly replayable, Pick-A-Dog is a lively family game that rewards sharp observation and lightning-fast decisions.
