Pick-a-Polar Bear

As the polar bears leave the melting ice behind and head out to party, it’s up to players to help them form perfectly matched groups. Pick-a-Polar Bear uses the same thrilling, simultaneous gameplay as Pick-a-Dog, challenging players to grab cards from a shared grid that are identical to—or differ by only one feature from—the card in their hand. Each polar bear card shows a combination of five attributes, such as size, background colour, raised arm, goggles, and canned fish, forcing players to constantly reassess what counts as a valid match.

Rounds begin with a shout of “Go!” as everyone grabs cards at once, stacking them as the matching conditions shift with every pick. When a player thinks no more matches are possible, they call “Stop!”—but stopping too early or making a mistake can cost them the entire round. Adding even more excitement, Pick-a-Polar Bear includes two unique variants, including restriction rules for leading players and bonus rounds that test quick counting and focus. Lively, clever, and highly replayable, it’s an energetic family game that rewards speed, observation, and confidence under pressure.
